To Mama:
I may not have understood the things you did for me as a child, and back then, I never really thanked you. Though it’s a bit late:Thank you very much, Mama!!
Don’t think I don’t appreciate what you’ve done..
Because of you, I’m still alive and doing good.
I drew this for my mom with the message quoted above.
See, whenever I was sick, my mom would make me hot chocolate and oatmeal porridge with evaporated milk and sugar. When they’re prepared, she calls me and I’ll just eat. I remember her giving me a kiss on my temple. I didn’t really feel her love back then, but now that I’m older, it leaves me teary-eyed to know that it was already her unconditional love.
I love you, Ma! Don’t ever think that I don’t.
… Damn ninjas cutting onions. :’|

Rhyze requested I draw something for her best friend, Donna. I drew this while I was in Australia for about an hour, and then colored for another hour. Took a picture with my phone, and then put it up on my computer. The quality wasn’t really that good, so I improved some shading and colors with Photoshop for another half an hour.
This was the best I could make it at the time. XD What do you think?

neko no te mo karitai - To “want to borrow a cat’s paw”. It’s an idiom used to describe someone who is too preoccupied that one wants to be in two places at once.

aka no aku hodo mitsumeru - When you stare long enough at someone or something, a hole will open up. I think we, Filipinos, have a version of our own of this idiom. XD

ashi ga chi ni tsukanai - Literally “one’s legs don’t touch the ground”. It’s used to describe someone being “restless and excited”.

hiku te amata - Japanese for “Many pulling hands”, but is an idiom meaning “having lots of suitors”.
I drew this for my officemate, Miss Rachel. She requested me to draw for her report on Japanese Idioms. I also drew 4 other Japanese-Idiom-inspired drawings. I’ll be posting them up one by one. ;)
